Research Consulting
The Office of Measurement and Evaluation of Teaching provides without charge a consulting service to assist faculty, students, and staff with questions relating to the areas of research design, measurement, and statistical analysis.
Consultation can be helpful at all stages of the research process. Areas where assistance can be provided include:
• Study design
• Data collection methodology
• Sampling strategies
• Instrument selection
• Instrument Development
• Power analysis
• Selection of data-analysis method
• Setting up file for data entry; recommendations on coding systems
• Data analysis
• Interpretation of results of data analysis
• Suggestions for displaying results in tables
• Reviewing parts of the written report of results
Long-term tutoring and daily or weekly support over extended time periods are beyond the scope of this service. The research consultants may be able to refer clients to qualified individuals who are willing to provide such services for a designated fee depending on their availability.
